REMOVING the Old BEARINGS & Installing the NEW Bearings Heat up the crankcase as shown and heat it until the inner bearing DROPS. then grab the crankcase with pliers on a mounting rail and flip it over to let the outer bearing drop out. You may have to gently tap the case to get the bearngs to drop.
Heat up the crankcase and the bearing boss. Put the NEW outer bearing on your crankshaft, and insert it into the crankcase.
With the bearing boss warmed up, seat the new bearing in the crankcase. Remove the crankshaft.
Place the INNER BEARING on the crankshaft as shown. .
Warm up the INSIDE bearing boss and insert the CRANKSHAFT into the heated CRANKCASE and seat the INNER bearing.
Let the crankcase cool down naturally. Then check the rotation of your crankshaft. Be sure its smooth without any binding. |
